About the Artist
Christine Kidwell has been playing in the mud since she was a young tot, relentlessly digging into the clay of the midwest searching for fossils, arrowheads, shiny quartz, flint, or any object that caught her eye. This early obsession with the earth and its elements remains a driving force for Christine and informs each stoneware piece.
Christine's colleagues and students often comment that they can recognize a "Kidwell" piece at first glance even though each work is original, one-of-a-kind, and never duplicated. You won’t find perfect symmetry in her work, but you might notice that her geometric ratios represent those most found in our natural world.
